Scene It is a fictional movie picker app where users can login and browse a vast catalogue of movies that can be composed into various lists. The main function of the app is to choose a movie at random from various lists, the app was inspired by an issue most streamers face on a regular basis - having too much choice that they can't choose what to watch
This is a ongoing project that I have undertaken within a small group to build the platform using React and Material UI. Responsible for UI & UX and also consulting on the front-end development.
Problem Statement:
Movie enthusiast tired of endlessly scrolling streaming apps looking for a way to effortlessly choose the feature for their next movie night.
The Solution:
A web app that is easily adaptable to all devices and fit any user environment. The app should feature a vast catalogue of old and new movies but also update instantaneously with new releases. The user should be able to filter titles to their own taste's and also search the catalogue with ease to ensure continue user and avoid user frustration from continuous scrolling. Adding to collections should be seamless, easy to use and never redirect the user from the journey. Once a movie has been viewed it should appear in a separate Rewind list so the user can easily find past titles and re-add it to lists if they wish. Users should also be able to skip a title, retaining the movie in the collection. The overall design should be dynamic, sleek and modern, featuring familiar UI elements to allow for seamless flow and easy to use features.
