Mixtape Streaming app is an ongoing personal project with the goal to create a modern, fresh and visually stunning streaming app for desktop, tablet and mobile. I wanted the project to focus around the functionality of a side bar that would collapse but allow the user to perform all the main functions of the app, allowing the user to keep the app on the desktop while performing other tasks on the computer and reduce the need to switch between windows. Creating everything from the logo, vectors, colour palette and soundwaves, keeping in mind how all these elements would interact in the user experience. Using Adobe XD to design and prototype the app, adding advanced transitions, component states and animations to captivate the user and bring a unique and fulfilling user experience.
Problem Statement:
Busy individual who is always on the move needs a streaming app that adapts to their every changing environment but also compresses to their workspace.
The Solution:
A mobile and web app that has a dynamic music scene vibe, that is tailored to a range of devices, and features a unique compressed window element that is not disruptive on a desktop workflow. The app should be updated instantaneously with new releases and should be tailored to the user’s tastes, to ensure continued use and to avoid any user frustration from continuous scrolling through irrelevant content. The user should be able to personalise their account, create playlists, search content and update account/preferences. Also a notification feature to alert the user of new releases and upcoming events. The interface should be familiar, although the compressed feature is uncommon, user’s should not feel overwhelmed when learning how to use it, elements/icons should be instantly recognised to ensure continued flow.
